The second picture is of the hot springs water actually flowing. There is a window in the bath house that you look into. This is what you see. You can see the formations on the side walls. When the water comes out of the ground it is 143 degrees. The process in which the water gets purified etc. is lengthy. It is worth looking up on line and reading about, interesting too.
The picture to the left is of the still working elevator.
