We took off for Memphis with clear skies and a beautiful traveling day. We had learned before we left the hotel in Cave City that the area we fled the day prior had so much wind damage that it was claimed as a "disaster" area eligible for funding. When we took off on Sunday we thought we'd try to battle the winds /rain and head for Nashville. The weather looked clear for Nashville. As you know we didn't make it past cave city and learned that two people died in Nashville when a tree landed on their car as they drove. At this point we had lost a whole day of traveling but knew we made the right, safe decision.
As we arrived in Memphis it was Elvis, Elvis everywhere. As we walked to our hotel room we passed the pool shaped like a guitar. As we opened our room door Elvis greeted us from many pictures that hung from the walls.
We walked down the road the Graceland, which brings us to the pictures above. We picked a few to share with you. As we loaded them the order changed, not sure why.
The yellow room contained three tv's. Elvis could watch all three stations at one time. The room had a bar and records to be listened to.
Margie and Elvis in his younger days. This is how she remembers him.
The living room which Elvis called the "jungle room" was filled with hand carved furniture. It was very detailed. The big chair and teddy bear were Lisa Marie's favorites.
